This is Stella, my dog. She is the reason Humpables exists.
It was March 2020. The world had just shut down, we were all home, and Stella spotted my daughter's giant stuffed teddy bear. It was love at first sight.
Stella was very committed to that bear.
I heard myself say,
"Stella, that is not humpable!"
And then I burst out laughing.
In that moment I knew two things. Every dog owner has lived some version of this. And I wanted to help other dog owners laugh about it too.
So I bought the domain right away. Then I sat on it, waiting for the rest of the inspiration to land and manifest around the concept and design.

The road here hasn't been smooth. We're not business-minded people, and we've had real struggles along the way, with our IP attorney and with a product development firm that didn't work out the way we hoped. We've had to overcome a lot just to get to where we are. But we kept going, because we believe in this.
Here's what I believe:
humping is normal dog behavior. It doesn't need punishment. It needs redirection.
Redirect, don't shame. Give your dog something that is humpable, and get 'em off your leg and onto ours.

Humpables is for any dog owner who has found this behavior funny, awkward, or both at once. My hope is to replace shame with laughter, and to normalize pet behaviors with empathy and humor.
I dream of a world where every pet and their family share laughter, love, and acceptance.
